Can they be moved too much?

I am planning on building my piggy a nice big home next week. I have a good amount of room in my kitchen/dining room area since I dont have a dining room table and its by a window, this is where I was planning on putting my piggy's house. But I was thinking of keeping his current cage and then putting him in it at night and keep him in our bedroom at night. So far we've been keeping him in our room at night when we're in there, and then I move him to the living room during the day. Is this ok for the piggy. Will he get disoriented if I keep him out in the dining room during the day and in our room at night?

Re: Can they be moved too much?

Is Nismo's current cage a pet store one? If it is then I would personally leave him in the C&C overnight as well as during the day. Some pigs are quite active during the night, and being in a pet store cage after having the freedom of a C&C may make him feel a bit frustrated - after all, his house has been downgraded form a mansion to a box!

However, if the cage in your bedroom is a C&C then I should think it would be OK. I know some members take their pigs to work for the day and bring them home at night, and what you are doing now is basically the same thing except with a shorter journey.

Re: Can they be moved too much?

If they are both big cages i.e. larger than any pet store ones, then it should be OK, although I imagine the pig would be happier staying in the one cage all the time.

Re: Can they be moved too much?

Mine have a day run outside and a night hutch for colder nights / winter.
They aren't the least bit botheed about being moved about from here to there - they know they have two homes.
I am now starting to think of ways of slipping a nice big C&C cage into our art room without my husband noticing....can I give it to him for Christmas, do you think?

Re: Can they be moved too much?

I wish I could put a CC cage in my room but its just too small, hubby and I barely fit in there ourselves, . Main reason I would like to keep him in our room at night is because winter is coming and if I make a big CC cage and put it in the kitchen its gonna be cold out there. DH and Ialways keep our room at a comfortable temperature when we sleep so I want our piggy to be in the same room as us. The cage he has not isn't huge, but its not tiny either, so I might still do that anyway.
