Re: spinach ok??

Spinach should only be fed once or twice a week, it's really high in calcium.

It also has high amounts of oxalic acid in it. Oxalic acid can form oxalate stones. I don't feed my pigs spinach anymore. It can be fed a couple times per week in small amounts.

Re: spinach ok??

Wow! Thats good to know, my pigs have been eating spinach a lot the past month.
I get it mostly for the iguana, he needs extra calcium.

Re: spinach ok??

Oddly, when I went on GuineaLynx to look at veggie nutritional content, I was surprised to also discover Parsley and DANDELION GREENS are high in calcium too! I was really disappointed!

Re: spinach ok??

I've heard giving them clover is good.
And grass too. But it seems like some grass is really sharp and
can cut you easily. I'm warry about the grass.

Re: spinach ok??

Check www.guinealynx.info (under "vegetable nutrition") for a list of common veggies you might want to feed the piggers. If yours love spinach, they'll probably enjoy other leafy greens like romaine and red leaf, and the green tops of carrots.
