Lonely pig?
Swear I'm asking so many questions on this forum...
So, Noah's started speeding round his cage at like 8 every morning and from about 10 thirty til 11/11 thirty every night. Squeaking is also involved and he's started wheeking a bit while he's been doing it tonight. He's also just crashed in to his pigloo
Silly guy...I was just wondering if this is behaviour caused by loneliness? :/ I read about a couple of symptoms of a lonely pig and this sorta thing was involved but I'm not sure. He is getting his companion in 4 weeks (my friend who I'm adopting him from doesn't like letting them go before they're 5 weeks old) but I really want there to be something I can do in the mean time! Noah is nearly 2 months and 2 weeks old, give or take a few days if it makes a difference

Re: Lonely pig?
Absolutely normal behavior. That's what young pigs do to amuse themselves. Sometimes my young one will run zoomies at 0600 in the morning.

Re: Lonely pig?
Guinea pigs are crepuscular, which doesn't mean that they have bad acne, however much it sounds that way. It means they're much more active early in the morning and late at night, as opposed to nocturnal creatures, who are active at night, or diurnal creatures, who are active during the day.
So your pig is just being a normal pig.

Re: Lonely pig?
My little pig did that when she had her companion (who died just a few days ago). She's a lot quieter now and doesn't zoom or squeak anymore so consider yourself lucky to have a happy pig!
He'll be extra happy when he gets a new friend.

Re: Lonely pig?
Yay!
That's good to know. I'm making them new little corner tent style hideys so they'll have extra room to play and do this
Thanks for the help, glad he's normal
