Pigson Depressed?

I've been a bit worried as of late about my Little Pigson. I had thought he was okay after the passing of his big brother Pignatius, and maybe for a while he was.... But I'm afraid he's getting a bit lonely. I've been trying to spend as much time as I can with him, and give him treats and lots of adventure time, but all he seems to be doing is laying in his pigloo, and not really coming out.
He's not too interested in food or treats, and he's been a bit cuddlier as of late (which I don't really mind)
He's still eating and drinking alright, not as voraciously as he normally does, but he's still picking around when he's hungry it seems.

Is there any way I can give him anymore stimulation that will brighten him up? I haven't heard him wheek nearly since Pignatius passed :[ I miss my happy crazy piggy.

Re: Pigson Depressed?

Of course i have, but there's not much for rescue in my area, and I was hoping to bond a little more with Pigson before I got another since I've only had him for about 2 months now.

Pigson and Pignatius were separated for about a week before Iggy-pig died, Pigson had a URI during that time. His scheduling with treats and cuddles got really messed up as Pignatius was in critical condition, so I thought that once things got back to normal he'd be his usual self. Things aren't quite normal yet, though, and since I've moved Pigson back to the large cage which I deep cleaned before letting him back in, and he was VERY excited to have space to run and play again, and he'd been doing fine up until a few days ago when he just seemed lonely (though my work hours got a bit longer, so I dunno if that's what's upset him)

As for a new friend for him, my only worry is that because he's a boar and has more of a chance of either him or the new pig being territorial, that their personalities won't mesh as well as Pignatius and Pigson's did. They were PERFECT for eachother from what I saw, Iggy had just the right amount of dominance and power that Pigson's laid back, easy going, exciteable personality didn't get quashed. I'm afraid that will happen (if it hasn't already by this depressive stint)

I understand that, I had to go through that with Pignatius and Pigson, Its just that I want their personalities to fit so that there are no complications down the line.

Re: Pigson Depressed?

Thank you, @lil_sabo . Its tough.
@schavarry , Yeah, I read through that article a few days after Iggy-Pig died, I wanted to make sure Pigson was going to be okay. At this point though, like I said, I'm not really ready to get a new piggy (or maybe I didn't.... either way....), so all I was wondering was if I could do anything to stimulate his interests. I suppose I should just try to spend more time with him for now, which I really don't have a problem with. He's being a right little cuddle bug. <3

This sorta pertains to not getting a new piggy, or at least not right now:

Be sure to give your remaining guinea pig lots of extra love and attention. Try moving them into a more active area of your home. A slight change of scenery might be good for them. Also, consider getting your guinea pig a stuffed animal friend. Most cavies will be fine with them. If they start to eat or tear it, then of course, remove it. Check the Toys page for additional ideas and advice on keeping a guinea pig happy
