Guinea pig sounds

This is about one of my newer additions to the group, the sixth guinea pig Maisy. I have gotten used to understanding most of the sounds they make now, especially the wheeking (every time I pass the cage) Maisy however has been making a new sound, it's hard to describe but it sounds as if she is talking to me. At first I thought it might be a scared noise as when I first started picking her up she made the noise. I sit her on my lap and after a few minutes that's when the noise starts, it doesn't sound high pitched, or anything like teeth chattering so is she just talking to me ? It goes on for awhile as well, not just in short bursts. Sorry for the long post, I will try and record it for you all to listen to soon to, it will be better than my describing.

Is it a sort of quiet squeaking with no particular rhythm? Kwee does that all the time after a few minutes of being held. No idea what it means.

Well at least Maisy isn't the only one I hope it means they are just happy and yes it sounds like what you are describing. As if they are talking to you in their own little language.

When I first got Pignatius he would come up to the edge of the cage, look up at me and make those quiet squeaks, I thought it was some type of wheeking and didn't think too much about it. I'd never heard of a piggy making those noises before, i thought he was just really quiet or shy haha :] Glad to hear other piggies do that too ^.^

, Maisy has added a quiet vibrating now to, along with the quiet squeaking I think she is happy as she will make the noises eating veggies now to.

Quinn tells those secrets to my husband. He knows how to pet her just right during lap time so she makes those quiet little contented noises. I suspect they translate to, "Yes, slave, your training is coming along very well. Right there...a little to the right...ah, yes! And don't forget the carrot slice when we're done."
