After much ado about the cage, we settled on a 120x64cm closed cage. I couldn't find the cubes anywhere or even coroplast (they use fibre glass for signs here apparently). Anyway, planning to buy a playpen where they will spend at least 3 hours everyday running around and playing.
Our pet shop called me this morning to tell me that a lady dropped off two unwanted females. Our shop doesn't order guinea pigs. He just takes in unwanted ones, mostly babies. He doesn't have a lot of animals in his shop, he mostly sells supplies. Anyway, after I got everything ready I went to pick them up. I only managed to take a pigture of the elder one, around 5-6 months old. We named them Alicia and Dora (after Dora the explorer characters)
Time for pics...
They're doing quite well actually. The elder one let me pat her! They started eating after I put it close to their hidey house. They ate pellets, some lettuce, carrot and parsley. They still pretty much hide every time we enter the room but I still saw a lot of progress already. i don't think they were handled much, especially the little one. I think they were just fed and left there...but the big one seems to have been used to humans. Hope they'll get used to us quickly because I can't wait to cuddle them!!
If anyone has any suggestions please feel free.
