    Re: Litter Training Possible?

Hi, and welcome to the forum!

It's not just hard to train them, it's impossible. But there are a few things you can do to improve the situation.

--Watch where your pig goes to the potty the most, and put the litter box there.
--Put a larger litter pan (you can even make one out of a cardboard box) underneath your hayrack and where you feed your pigs. They tend to pee and poop the most where they eat, and you can just clean those areas rather than the whole cage.
--Put some sort of padding down (fleece sewed around a towel, for example) underneath the hideys they sleep under. Change those frequently.

Otherwise, just scoop poop and change the cage as needed! The bedding needs to be kept dry -- they can get urine scald (painful bald spots on their bottoms) and bumblefoot from being kept on wet bedding.

    Re: Litter Training Possible?

I am going to try the a litterbox in my Piggys cage as well From my understand like bpatters has said it is impossible to completely litterbox train a guinea pig, but if they use their litterbox some of the time then to me that is a big help over using the bathroom 100% all the time in their cage. It is definitely worth a shot.
