Ok, our guys seem to be happy and thriving ever since we got them about 3 weeks ago. They're about 2 months old now and we recently clipped their nails. When should we take these guys to the vet for their first visit? Also, how often after the initial visit. I think GL says to take your pig to the vet once a year (or was it twice a year). Yes/no? |

Hmmm... I'd say take them if they're sick, and don't worry about it otherwise. |

It's always a good idea to get one good initial checkup after you get them. Most people though don't bother unless their pigs have mites or are ill. If you got them from a petstore, I would go ahead and get a checkup for them if you can and if you want to. Other than that, once a year is fine. |

I take my four pigs to my vet every other month anyhow. Just for a checkup. It's just for Preventative Maintenance. I know, I really get carried away with mine. And I have been doing that ever since I got my 1st two over a year and a half ago. And even though it's costly, I have no regrets. I love my pigs. |
