Not Ranked. Helpful AND tactful post? : 0 I am wonder if my guinea pig Meeka can't smell that good. He will not eat his veggies unless I put it in his mouth, then he realizes its food and eats it. The only thing he doesn't do this with is, bananas maybe because they are really fragrant. But if they are playing outside and I scatter food around, Lakota will search for it with his nose but Meeka doesn't even realize there is food. Lakota like to smell the wind, and likes sniffing in general, but Meeka I don't believe I have ever seen him sniff anything. It could just be his personality but I was just curious if it was possible if he had a bad sniffer. |

Has Meeka always been like this? That's kind of odd I've never met an animal that doesn't sniff stuff. |

I'm sure it's possible for a GP to have no sense (or a limited sense) of smell -- there are people born without one, or with varying degrees of sensitivity. My husband can detect odors and scents long before I can, and at much lower concentrations. I don't know why GPs should be exempt from abnormal anatomy and/or functions. How likely it is that Meeka doesn't smell well, I don't know. |
