I just did some lap time with poppy and noticed the tip on one of her ears seems dry and a little crusty. About 2mm. She was treated some weeks ago at the vets for mites (4 treatments over 4 weeks). Any suggestions as to what i can put on it. Don't think it would show up on a photo as it's very small. Not itching or scratching.

It could be just dry from the medication but if it doesn't go away, Gorgeous Guineas sells something you can rub on crusty or dry ears.

That Gorgeous Guineas isn't in the US is it? If not, what is comparable to that in the states? Aside from wet bathing, is there a safe "wipe" type deal you could use just to wipe them down every so often? Just curious, mine really don't smell or anything, and I see them "grooming" all the time, so I guess they are really clean animals for the most part anyways.

The medication was injected. I remember when i first got her the same ear was pretty dry (all of it) and when i found this site and looking at threads it prompted me to take her to the vets . Then she and her sis started on a 1 day a week for 4 weeks course of meds to treat for suspected mites. I'll wait it out till Monday or Tuesday and if it doesn't seem any better i think a vet visit will be needed.

Gorgeous Guineas is based in the UK but ships world wide I think. Many users here have used their products with great results.

Just had a look at it. It mentions Super Souffle Cream . I have that . Wonder if its the same thing ??? Is a facial Moisturizer.

Do you mean you bought that for yourself and it happens to have the same name?
If that's what you mean no, it's not the same thing. I'm pretty sure Gorgeous Guineas makes its cream and stuff by hand. They're original products that can't be bought anywhere else.

Yup . It says it's a rich, moisturising cream with Avocado and Calendula Oil. Same like mine. They offer a trial size so i think i'll order that and see how it goes. Thanks for the site Vic.

One of my Teddy's (Fitzroy) gets a dry ear...just the white one. We put a little bit of mineral oil on his ear and rubbed it in a little. The next day, it wasn't dry anymore.

Thanks, I did the very same thing yesterday. I'll continue to do it till monday and if no change then i'll take her to the vet. I want to make sure she doesn't have ear mites.
