Can't seem to find the answer in "search". How often do females go in heat and for how long each time? Yesterday I put Busy and Shady out for floortime. I kept hearing a noise similar to an off center bowl rocking on a table top that has been jiggled. I realized it was Shady, pushing and standing in Busy's way and making this noise. Both had their "hackles" up and were kind of puffed up. Busy would run and squeak and Shady would go after her for another encounter. I left them to work it out, but assume Busy is in heat. I will put them out later for floor time and just wondered if this will continue today. Will she still be in heat ? |

About every 16 days for a few hours but the behaviors associated with a heat cycle can last from 1-3 days. |

As early as 4 weeks seeing as they can breed then. But this sounds more like dominance issues than heat symptoms? Could be both though. |

These gals are over one year and have been together all that time. Usually they get along well, so I figure if it is just an issue "at that time of the month" they'll have to work it out. They never actually fight. My vet warned me this might happen and said just be sure they have a place to get out of each other's way when it does. |
