I have extream guinea pig allergies and it SUCKS! I of course could not give up my piggies for the world, but i want to be able to hold them and feel the warmth of my piggies without a big thick bathrobe and stuffy dust mask over my face!

DOES ANYONE know anybody who has GOTTEN guinea pig allergoy imunotherepy shots??? I have heard plenty of people say you can PROBABLY get them but can you really??

I want to know the answer to this same question. I have allergies to my girls too and will not give them up either.

You're most likely allergy to the hay dust. You have to get tested to find out what specifically you're allergic to to get the shots properly formulated.

I've had dust and hayfever shots for years and they've worked well for me.

I know some people take Claratin and other meds like that to help with allergies.

I am allergic to the protein in Guinea Pig Dander and Saliva and my doctor advised me against going on shots as they are not great for long term but the last time I had a severe attack he gave me a shot.

I am on FexoFast 120mg. The doctor started me on 20mg for a month then went up to 80mg for a month and then 120mg. The doctor feels there is no need to put me on a higher one as this one seems to work 100% with me.

It was worth all the tests, the prodding, the injections, the waiting, the everything to be able to sit down and cuddle my Gizzy in my arms for hours.
