My boars are becoming bullies?

So I made every effort to reduce the stress of moving into a new (and larger) cage for my boars. The first few days they seemed happy and content, after about a week I noticed that they were being very nasty and aggressive to each other, they were chattering, nipping and chasing each other. I have never seen this behavior in them before. Dracula the older one is about four and Shagg was introduced to him when he was just a (rescued) baby, they got along wonderfully. They used to snuggle and sleep together now they sleep in separate pigloos and chase each other and snap and chatter pretty bad. This has only happened since I put them into the larger cage. I noticed that the girls are being a little bit more aggressive with each other too since the switch but they aren't as bad as the boys. Is this normal? Is the cage too big? Will it pass? What should I do? I am so worried they will fight and hurt each other! I put more pigloos and litter boxes and water bottles/food bowls in the cage hoping it would help but now they all guard their own stuff and are territorial over it. Has anyone experienced this or know why it has happened out of the blue? Should I separate everyone with a divider?

Re: My boars are becoming bullies?

The younger one is about two and a half now (maybe a little younger) and the cage is 3 grids wide and 3 deep. I have two of everything but the hayloft. I haven't noticed any hostility over it so I have not put two in yet since they have a hay tumbler they roll around as well. This morning when I got up to say hello I noticed that after Shagg (he is the friendlier of the two) came over to say good morning and get a scratch on the head the other one nipped at him. Is it possible Drac is jealous of the humans?

Re: My boars are becoming bullies?

It sounds like they're just re-establishing dominance in the new cage. I would use hideys with more than one entrance/exit if you aren't already so no pig can get trapped. Just give it some time and they should work it out.

I really don't think Drac is jealous of the human attention that Shagg got.
