A member here had a tip for a "piggie elevator". If you missed it, it is a box the pigs go in and you pick it up and transport to floortime, etc. I use a tunnel. I have taught my two girls to go in it (one at a time) when I tap on it and say "who wants to get out" for floortime or "home? home?" when floortime is done. Both will look at me for a minute, then get in and stay still while I pick the tunnel up, blocking the ends with my hands of course. No chasing around the floor and I am glad that drama is over !!
The only downside is that I have had little time to actually hold and pet my guinea pigs and will have to work on doing that. Especially if I want to check them over for lumps or other problems. They just do not like to be petted and I have wanted to gain their trust before I insist they submit to handling. |
