I am adopting two boars Friday! I'm so excited! I think fate led me to these two. I've been hoping for awhile to adopt a boar, so everyday I surf my local Craigslist. Monday I go to check the pet section just like always, and what do I see?! An ad for two male guinea pigs that had just been posted a few minutes before! Then....I realize that I'm not in my local CL, but in another CL for a town an hour away! I would never have thought of checking this CL! ![]() I haven't had boars since I was a small child, only sows. Does anyone have any boar advice for me? I've also heard of people having one neutered boar living with sows.......but has anyone ever had a pair of neutered boars with sows? Do you think I could pull this off with a large enough cage? |

Two neutered boars cannot live with females, they will fight. |

Congrats on getting two new piggies! I have two boars myself and I do find that they bicker and grumble at each other quite a bit, I suppose they are establishing dominance as I've only had them for a week. I wouldn't recomend having two neutered boars with a sow as they may still fight over the female. Good luck with them and please keep us up to date! I'd love to see pics of your new arrivals. |
