Pipe cleaner(s), string, piece of wire -- anything that runs around the bottle and attaches to the cage at both ends. |

I use garden wire for a lot of my animals' bottles (I hate the wire things that come with them as they're never quite big enough!). Just twist it on to the bars of the cage at each edge and it will work fine. If you don't have garden wire even string will do a similar job. You can see what I mean in this picture here (this was a set-up for a hamster): ![]() ..... the wire stays permanently in place and you just slide the water bottle in and out of it. My favourite water bottle holder are the little springs like these here: (( ebay listing )) so it might be worth ordering a couple of these for the long-term! |

No pipe cleaners or wire. I just cut a piece of plastic table covering and used that. But i don't know how long it will last. The girls are nibblers. I put it as high as possible. Don't know if it will work. |

Nope. wooden and plastic only . Ash just came down to say they are eating the plastic table covering i used to tie it. She said princess was nearly standing on poppys head to get at it. My 4 year old told he to use her bandana |

I use the hair rubberbands that we women tie our hair back with. I just loop it through a grid and BAM! Instant water bottle holder |

I've used rubber band and it worked well until it broke. I went out and bought elastic cords from craft store and braided them to make my own rubber band, it works really and looks attractive. Add picture: Last edited by lissie; 10-20-09 at 02:28 pm. |

This won't help much for the temporary thing, but I find that I like a temporary holder for the water bottle, and not one the falls off. |

Thick rubber bands. This is a tip that I learned on this forum and absolutely love it. I just use rubber bands and it holds it all in place with no slipping or turning of the bottle. |

The wire bands that you find around veggies work in a pinch too. |
