I'm a little confused. There are numerous posts on this forum (and elsewhere on the web) indicating that puberty in males begins at about 4 months of age, and equally as many (or more) that say that males should be separated from females at 21 days because they're capable of impregnating the females then. Since puberty is generally defined as the age at which sexual reproduction is possible, how do you reconcile the two different ages? |

When people refer to puberty, it is generally in reference to boars not getting along well. This occurs at about 4 months. They are able to impregnate females at 21 days. |

Yes, it's like Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde. One day your boars will be best friends and when puberty hits, the pig experiencing the puberty will try to challenge the boss pig, which for me didn't go well with two of my pigs. |
