Hi Everyone!

I'm in the middle of upgrading several of my websites as well as a new one.

I'm looking for the best of the best of various types of photos. I'd like to stick to user-contributed photos as much as possible.

Since we have going on 12,000 photos in our database, it's a tough job looking for all of them myself--there are so many--even if I just looked for ratings of 10, there are too many, and I'd probably miss some good ones that got accidental scores of a lower rating.

I'm looking for great cage shots, accessories, cozies, cute pig shots--especially different poses such as butts, etc.

The photos must be:

IN FOCUS
CLEAR, NOT MUDDY
SAFE
HAVE AN IDENTIFIABLE AUTHOR (if not from this site)

What's good:

Non-messy background or ability to crop or photoshop out background/distractions
Bright lighting
Good contrast
Prefer cage photos with ample hay and hidey houses if possible.
Prefer if there is a high-res version of the photo available as well (on this site, clicking image brings up a larger image).

I may also want to use some of these in my upcoming book and for those, I will need the higher resolution available.

After getting permission to use any photos, winners will be awarded a year as Cavy Star status as well as credit where used. I will also award Cavy Star status to those who find me the photos I end up using.

New photos are welcome. It's best to upload them into the gallery if you own them.

Note: This forum only allows you to post 3 images per post.

You can do this easily from our gallery. At the bottom of a photo is the "Linked Thumbnail" text. COPY the WHOLE thing and paste into your post here.

Also, I'm going to be submitting a paid contest to a graphics forum once I have my completed list of source graphics to choose from. This will probably be around a $50 project for a new site.

If anyone is a hot shot Photoshop or Fireworks wiz, please PM if you are interested in having a crack at it.

Feel free to vote or comment on photos, but the winners will be chosen by me, not the community. I have certain things I'm looking for--a vision so to speak.

Sounds like fun! What type of pictures are you looking for? Like, piggy ones or cage photos? Also, how many can you enter?

This is my favorite picture of my boy, Bodie. I call him the Vampire Pig! I think it would be adorable if someone could photo shop it to a "scary" background and add a little Dracula cape on him. It would be a good Halloween picture then. This photo has also been posted in the gallery.

I also LOVE this one of Bodie. It was taken soon after he was introduced to my girls (after waiting 3 weeks post-neuter). He was all tuckered out from romancing my girls and popcorning all over the place.

from the top so far:

Jojojo -- maybes
luvmycavies -- OOF (Out of Focus), one is unsafe
tdchewy -- OOF
PrincessPoppy -- 1&2, nothing special, 3 OOF, kind of muddy
AngieKay -- like the begging one
WigglesGiggles -- would have to crop to just the lower pig, top pig is on unsafe grid bottom.
Froggie009 -- 1: OOF, 2: just doesn't do it for me.
Nichols10 -- dracula pig needs an explanation--won't work for my purpose, Pig asleep in plate is EXCELLENT. other two in the shot are good, slap's butt pig is great, but a little too OOF.
Kipsi -- just not doing it for me.

So that's my early feedback to give you guys an idea.

I'm not sure I'll be able to comment on every one, but I will try to give some early feedback.

Just a note, please don't bother posting about Out Of Focus shots. I really need good photography.
