Exclamation Help me!

Hello people of GPC,

I'm a new guinea pig owner, and I need to get hay. I was looking at Kleenmama's, that's where someone recommend me to go, and I was thinking about getting hay from there. I also need to get pellets. I, again, was going to get the m from Kleenmama's. I have some questions though.

1. What kind of hay should I use?
2. How long does 45 pounds of hay last for two piggies?
3. What kind of pellets should I use?
4. How long do 50 pounds of hay last for two piggies?

Thank you for everyone that helps me with this!

Re: Help me!

Welcome to GPC!
1. Any grass hay will be fine, just don't use alfalfa.
2. It depends on how quickly your pigs go through it.
3. If ordering from Kleenmama's I believe that their timothy based pellet is called Timothy Choice.
4. Again it depends.
Hope this helps!

Re: Help me!

If your pigs are under 6 months, you can get the alfalfa pellets.

Re: Help me!

My guess is that with just two pigs it will last awhile if you ordered 45lbs. I have five pigs and I go through 5lbs of pellets every two weeks and a big bag of oxbow hay ( not sure of the weight) lasts a little over a week. Hope this helps and have fun with your new additions!

Re: Help me!

Thank you everyone!

I went with Kleenmamas 45 lbs bluegrass hay, and Kleenmamas 25 lbs Timothy Pellets. I'm really close to getting my piggies now! Just need to clean my room, then I can get them!
