Not Ranked. Helpful AND tactful post? : 0 My brother has one little intact boar in his room while I have 3 intact sows. We don't want to breed them so we keep them seperated. But my brother wants to let his piggy socialize more than just nose touching between the fence and is wanting to get his pig neutered so he could hang out with my girls while he is out. My mom suggested getting him another pig possibly a spayed sow from the shelter so his piggy could have a forever friend. I really don't know which is better for the little guy. Suggestions please! The little boar is in a large enough cage to house 2 pigs so space is not an issue we just need to make a decision. |

I think it would be better to get the little guy a forever friend such as another male or spayed female as your mother suggested it would be better. |

I think that getting a friend would be better because it does not require surgery. |

With surgury always comes risk. If you can find a spayed female why risk it. I would get him a spayed female from the shelter. |

Spayed females are hard to find, but most boars can be successfully matched up with another male as well. I'm sure he would love a buddy! |

Yea I would try and find a spayed female friend. That would be best instead of putting your brothers guy under the knife. where their are risks. |
