Not Ranked. Helpful AND tactful post? : 0
I was watching my girls tonight and decided to take a few videos of them, since they don't like the camera flash. But while I was taping, Bella started moving in an odd way... kind of like heaving. It is hard to describe, so here's a link to the video. It is at the very very end, so you can fast-forward if you want. She was fine a few seconds later, but I was just wondering what this action was and if anyone else has seen a pig do it. Thanks! YouTube - Lexi and Bella |

That is strange. The only thing I can think of though is hiccups. Can guinea pigs get hiccups? |

Was she recently eating? She may have had something caught in her throat that she was working out. |

She had been eating hay while I was taking the video, so within 2 minutes of her acting like that. She wasn't making any noise when she was doing it, like any kind of coughing or gagging noises. |

It sort of looks like she's having contractions....... |

Most likely she was eating too fast and choking. They can't vomit but they can cough and yes they can get hiccups too. |

I totally agree. Check her mouth ASAP. And watch her closely. Did anything come out of her mouth? I hope everything will be ok but it does look like she was choking or trying to cough up something. |

She didn't bring anything up and wasn't making any coughing or gagging noises, and was fine a few seconds later. Thank you though! I was just not sure what was going on with her |
