The chat room is being used more these days but it seems people are not following the rules in chat.
While we are not as strict about chat room postings, we still expect people to follow many of the forums rules in chat.
In the chat room you may:
Here is a list of what
NOT to do in chat:
- Ask someone's or everyone's ages or tell your age. If you tell your age or state "I am under 18", you will receive a poo from me or one of the other mods. Safety for our younger members is a high priority for us.
- Talk about smoking
- Talk about drugs (prescription or non-prescription) or make reference to drugs.
- Talk about Religion
- Talk about Politics
- Use curse words or vulgar language
- Discuss breeding or showing
- Advocate petstores, breeding or showing
- Linking to sites that contain information on breeding or showing
- Linking to personal sites/forums that contain care info, breeding info, showing info, etc. (You don't get to promote your site/forum anywhere here on this site)
- Link to personal photos of yourself if you are under 18
- Give your email address, address or phone number out. If someone wants to email you they can do it through the site's emailer or they can private message you to get it.
You are still expected to use the forum rules that apply when posting on the forum with the exception of chat speak.
The chat room was designed to chat about your pigs or other interests, but we highly discourage from seeking advice from people in chat about guinea pig care because many of the people in chat may be new and not know the proper advice to give. It's better to seek advice by posting threads on the forum.
And in case you were wondering, we mods can moderate the chat rooms without having to actually be in there.
