I love the pee in the face defense...it makes me laugh every time someone mentions it. I read that those girls can really shoot a stream! My boars never do anything that exciting, they just rub boar stink on everything.

My husband once got sprayed just walking past the cage and the wrong time. I had an older girl named Morgan and she could really shoot it far and high.

Re: My Boars Are Causing Me Sleep Deprivation

Just how loud do pigs get? I'm still looking into getting one, and one of the things I need to do is get permission from my apartment manager. I was planning to write in the letter that they're quiet, don't smell, etc, but now I'm not sure. Can they be loud enough to disturb my apartment-mates?

If they are in a room where no one is sleeping, they should not be too loud. They mostly squeal when they know that you are about to give them veggies. They do run laps and interact with each other during the night though.

I'm not sure they are loud enough to disturb neighbors.
Usually, when they are carrying on at night, if I leave the room and shut the bedroom door, they are not that loud. I guess if you had thin walls and you put the cage against a shared wall they might disturb your neighbors. I say you should go for it.

Re: My Boars Are Causing Me Sleep Deprivation

When I first put my girls together they were squeeking, humping and rumbling like crazy! They were like that for about a month driving eachother and myself crazy. Then they seemed to calm down a bit. At night I would listen to my ipod with my earplug headphones and by the morning they usually would fall out so I would hear my alarm! Worked out well for me. Good luck and I hope u get some sleep soon!
