Oh Geez

So my husband is really enjoying our new satellite dish. He is watching Modern Marvels on how they make cold cuts or something gross like that. In the factory, they were placing hunks of meat into plastic bags like garbage bags. The bag's rattling set the pigs off. All three of them are crowded into a corner wheeking their fool heads off. I have never seen them react to sounds on the TV before.

Re: Oh Geez

I think they probably just need to get used to some certain sounds. Mines never react to sounds on TV either ..but... recently my hubby got a new toy, a huge RC helicopter, which makes a lot of loud noises like a real helicopter is going to touch down in your living room! My 2 babygirls reacted to that promptly. They both stopped munching on the hey, frozen for a few minutes then crowled into one corner and kind of stayed there for 20 mins then slowly moved towards their hay bowl in hesitation and finally started eating again. They did not wheek the whole time that happened though. And this behavior kept on going quite a few times and after the 4th time which was like 2 weeks later I think, they completely used to the noises that toy makes. Now it's me who's left with the buzzing sound in my head!!

Bags rattling is an extremely unique/definite sound most piggies would react to in my opinion, but react to in a horrifying way or not that's another story. Mines always popcorn when they hear that! Cause usually to them it means fooood

Re: Oh Geez

I should clarify. My brain is fried from bar review, ugh. When they beg they always run to the corner nearest the kitchen and stand with their front paws on the grids (or another pig's back) until I either feed them or ignore them long enough that they find other things to do. They do that every time they hear the fridge open. It used to be every time someone headed to the kitchen until we hung a towel on that side of the cage

Re: Oh Geez

Ah, thank you!!

Mines do that every time we open the fridge too and very luckily our fridge is right in front of their cage -_-* like 4 meters away haha. Most of the times I ignore the wheeking cause I feed them veggies 2 times a day and only at exact hours (once in a while more than 2 times a day if I get some new treats for them). So if it's not the happy veggie hour yet, they will get nothing from the fridge... this way they can actually get to eat their hay.

How's the bar review? hehehe
