Not Ranked. Helpful AND tactful post? : 0
I have 2 guinea pigs, Peanut and Snickers. They have lived happily together in the same cage for their whole lives. Recently Snickers got a bladder and the vet suggested putting her in a seperate cage so I could monitor her food intake, droppings etc. more accurately. I put the cages side by side on the floor so that they wouldn't feel lonely. Snickers' health is now almost back to normal. But now, when I let them out together, Snickers is acting very agressive towards Peanut, chasing her around and schattering her teeth. Peanut does not do anything to provoke her, and I've had to seperate them the last two times. Does anyone have any suggestions? The vet is closed today and I'm worried. They normally get along very well (aside from minor spats) and I'm not sure what to do. Thanks so much. |

Since they were separated, they have to do the dominance dance all over again. I'd do full cage scrub down and introduction. Is Snickers healthy now? She may not be feeling well still so she is grumpy and feels more threatened. |

Thanks for your post. Any ideas on how to re-introduce them to each other without having them fight? I have cleaned the cages as you suggested. Right now, Snickers is back in the cage that they used to share and seems happier there. You have a good point about her health being a factor. I know she is not 100% yet. |
