Oh my word! They are too cute for words! Are you going to keep the babies or adopt them out? |

I put my foot down. I am totally keeping them, at least for now. I may have to adopt out the males in a year or so when I move to Florida. My boyfriends apartment is not big enough to house 5 piggies, but then again maybe by then we'll have found something bigger for us and the piggies! |

Which ones are the boys? They are so cute! I'd totally adopt them if you were looking for homes and nearby. |

They are two days old, but I am almost positive three out of the four are boys. The little white one with the small patch of gray around its eye is a female, I think. I will be able to properly sex them when the first week is up. Um, I am going to have to make a new cage though. I know where to find the grids, but where could I find corrugated plastic locally? I'm in Clemson, S.C. I was thinking using 4x3 Two Level - Boys and Girls - Guinea Pig Cage Photos as a blueprint for the cage design. That way I can keep the boys and girls separate, but they can still see each other. |

Have you checked local sign shops? I've found the best supply for coro to be a plastics shop out here. (I'm in Oregon). You might not want the boys to be able to see the ladies once they hit puberty (4-5ish months or so) because it might cause them to fight. That part depends on the pigs, but I think I'd rather be safe than sorry. |

They are discovering the wonderful world of fresh greens right now. Its precious to watch two of the babies nibble at the same big piece of lettuce! |

I'm not sure of any local sign shops to be honest. *embarassed* But would an arts and crafts store carry it? |

And when they get older I guess I'll redesign the cage into two separate cages and put them on opposite sides of the room. |

An arts and crafts store might carry it. Have you seen this site - Where? |

Yeah I checked the "Where" search engine. All those locations are almost a two hour drive, and those posts are over four years old. I guess I am a bit weary about driving out that far to find out if they may or may not have what I'm looking for. I'm surprised Lowes wouldn't carry it |

You may even try asking at your local fast food places. I got some of the chloroplast that I'm currently constructing with from a fast foods advertising sign for their lunch special. I went in and asked the manager if it was possible for me to acquire the signs from them when they were no longer being used. I got lucky and she gave one that had gotten ripped down and had been blowing around in the parking lot that morning |

Yeah that's true. I'll make some phone calls tomorrow morning. I am so scattered brained right now though. I have two weeks to come up with a better cage solution! The clock is ticking and I wish I could get started right now! I tried posting to "RedneckAcres" about the total amount of grids she used on her 4x3 Two Level - Boys and Girls - Guinea Pig Cage Photos , but I haven't gotten a reply yet. I'm so anxious. ![]() Aw they are making such cute little noises as they follow momma around. I wish they would stay this size forever |

They are absolutely adorable! ![]() As for finding coro. I suggest always calling and confirming on a price before driving out to get it. Some places that I called like kinkos wanted over $100 for a 40" x 40" piece. Look under signs in your yellow pages to get a listing. |

Geez I didn't think it was -that- expensive! I'm not really sure how to size it either. I was going to build the frame of the cage first, then measure the top and bottom levels then add 6 inchs on each side, but I'm not too sure if that is right or not. Would two cube packs be enough to make a cage this big? 4x3 Two Level - Boys and Girls - Guinea Pig Cage Photos |

You can totally find it cheaper - I pay $15 for a 4'x8' sheet of color coro, $12 for white. So shop around for sure. It looks like 2 boxes from somewhere like Bed Bath & Beyond would work if you don't want a grid base or need it completely closed off (like on the top). |
