Not Ranked. Helpful AND tactful post? : 0 This probably sounds like a funny question, but; Can a pig popcorn so wildly that he gets hurt? Lately Pokey gets so excited that he thrashes about and sometimes crashes into the side of the cage or slams against the wall of his hideaway. He seems to be fine because this doesn't even seem to slow him down, but even though I laugh hysterically when he gets so crazy I worry that he might actually injure himself! |

I've always wondered that too. All the popping and snapping can't be good for their poor little spines |

I would imagine, but the pig would have to be going pretty crazy to do that. If they are not careful, obviously, they can get caught on the cage or land on something the wrong way. But I would guess normally, no. |

My piggies can get pretty crazy too. They've been known to kick the cage and run into each other, but no one seems to have gotten hurt yet! |

My pig Furry worries me sometimes. She always shakes her head around while she popcorns and crashes into all kinds of stuff in her cage. I admit it's very funny to watch, but sometimes I'm afraid that she's going to poke her eyes with something or get her leg caught in the cage bars when she kicks wildly. A few days ago, my bigger girl (Porky Pig) popcorned and, while still in the air, whirled the other way in order to run a lap around her hidey. Unfortunately, my smaller girl was sitting in her way. They cracked heads so hard I could hear it from several feet away! They both staggered off, looking a little unsteady for a minute, but then they seemed OK. They may be tougher critters than we realize. |

And never popcorn on to the dominant pig's head. That is just a good way to get your butt kicked. |

I have often wondered the same thing. Oliver seems to do it all the time! at first I thought that maybe his hair was in the way of him being able to see where he was going so I trimmed it up a little bit but it did not seem to help. He still gets so excited that he often runs into things while pop corning about. |

Haha, well I'm glad I'm not alone in this. I guess it's pretty normal. It's probably a good idea not to have anything with sharp edges in the cage. It really is funny to watch though so I wouldn't wish they he didn't popcorn. Popcorn has got to be the cutest thing I've ever seen any pet do. |

They really crack me up whrn Fraggle and Brownie zoom around and popcorn wildly. Those pigloos are great for running laps around! It's all fun 'til Fraggle runs into Brownie... <Crash> "Squeek! What the heck, Fraggle!" <both girls running to hide in the pigloos> <chatter chatter> |

My pigs run around and bump into each other, but as soon as one has had enough the squabbling begins! |
