Not Ranked. Helpful AND tactful post? : 0 It's Friday, end of a long week, and I thought the best thing to pick up my day would be to have my piggy Ned join me at work. So we got to work and got out his special little home for while he's here, said good morning to all of his "fans" (my co-workers). And sat down at my desk. While he was climbing on the keyboard, I opened the tupperware container I brought his salad in, and tipped it on it's side to offer him some salad, and he climbed up on the edge and started digging in. I had so much fun and joy watching him just nibble his greens for those five minutes or so. Just him eating, chewing one leaf of spinach over the other, turning the leaf around to start at the end and work his way down the stem.. it was so simple and just made me happy. What do you like to watch your pig do? |

Aww thats so sweet. I wish I could take mine to work but I think its against health code (I work with ice cream). I love to watch mine explore my bed they always burrow under stuffed animals and drag them around. |

I thought I was the only one who liked to watch my piggies enjoying their meals! I also like to watch them being ornery. When they push their hay bins around, scamper over to stand on my dustpan when I'm cleaning up poos, or just slowly drink water or eat their pellets (while looking me right in the eyes) while I'm waiting for them to get done so I can change/clean them. I also love changing their fleece tents and playing with them while they're running under them (trying to knock them down) while I'm tying them up! I totally crack up watching them popcorn! I do things that I know will make them popcorn, and the more they do it, the more I laugh. The more I laugh...the more they popcorn! |

I love to watch my piggies eat! More accurately, I love the "ooo, happy munching sounds!" as they eat. I can hear them across the room when it's quiet enough, and I just sit here and smile. Hubby will have headphones on and will see my face and say "Oh, are they making happy munching sounds?" I also like to see them get all picky about their hay. You know, when they stand up and investigate each piece before the select one. And it goes without saying that watching popcorns and laps are wonderful. And seeing Sarge jump on top of the giant pigloo, and settle down facing Mogwai (divided cage) and then fall asleep watching him, while Mogwai is staring at Sarge and then he lays down, too... it's so adorable. |

I love to observe all my piggies' different personalities. Almond is the brave (and occassionally the dumb) one; no matter what, she'll stand her ground and sniff all giant attackers (namely, the poo vacuum). She's always happy, and popcorns over EVERY little thing. Then there's Pecan, who's VERY skittish and wary. She'll run from the tiniest little sound. Otherwise, she's very very intelligent and performs tricks for treats, then runs away and hides to eat them. Cashew is next; she's the boss of the girls, and insists that they all defer to her. She eats first, she gets the pigloo, and if one goes into the cozy then she has to be in it instead. As far as the boys, Apollo is the little noise-maker. He wheeks so loud, all the time, that his little ears shake with the might of his tiny voice. He runs and zooms and jumps on top of Zeus, his cage mate, constantly. Zeus is the gentle giant and puts up with pretty much anything. He's the only one of my piggies that loves being held, and chatters nonstop when we pet him. I just LOVE seeing all their different personalities. |

Since I don't have piggies yet, I like to go to my local feed store and watch the one or two piggies they always have forsale there. But the last time I went, they had the two cutest little ones. They ran and hid when I came up to the cage. But I tried my best to make wheeking noises, and what do I know, one of the piggies came out to meet me! It was so cute! Then it went off and started eating some pellets. But it wasn't scared of me! The other one wouldn't move from behind it's pigloo, but it was still cute! I know everybody hates stores that sell pets. But I just love to watch them! I have found a rescue that I am getting them from, so don't worry about me getting them from a petstore, because I wont! I just wanted to share one of my best experiences with guinea pigs so far! |
