You won't feel any pups at a month along. I read on your other thread that you have 3 boars. What is the story with the sow? Did you get her thinking she was male and she got pregnant accidentally? Did you get her knowing she was a female and breed her? I'm just curious as to why you may have a pregnant pig. |

I'm curious too. How do you know she is about a month into it? And no, you normally wouldn't feel babies until she is at least 6 weeks along. |

You posted a pic of all 4 guinea pigs together including the parents and their first litter ? http://www.guineapigcages.com/photos...hp?photo=13579 Unless your males are neutered, you shouldn't have them together at all. I noticed you had a roan too. Do you know what lethal whites are? It really sounds like you are purposefully (and haphazardly) breeding. If so, you should have done your research and you would know the answer to your own question. There are too many homeless guinea pigs in this state. You don't need to be breeding. Just because your sow had her first litter safely, doesn't mean she will survive the next ones. It's really hard on their bodies. |

My brother was playing with them one day, he's 8, and he let them together. He said they were together for about 10 minutes... i was mad. i know they're are homeless piggies out there and i am already really depressed about it... |

Ditto to all the above sentiment. I am sorry it happened b/c of your brother. Just to let you know that in 2+ months, you may end up having extra 2-6 piggies (totaling your herd to 6 - 10?). Then another 2+ months with another pregnancies you can easily end up with 20 - 40 plus especially if all the pups are gals. Add another 2+ months (50 - 100 plus) depending on your luck? So... with that potential of those kinds of numbers, do you have enough cash to cover all their vet needs or neuter all 3 boars? Also taking that into account that you have an 8 yo brother, you are also a child under your parents care... How will they take to that multiplication of your pigs??? Do they want to spend that kind of money on your pets??? Please do not let the below link be you: Boston.com / Latest News / Nation http://www.cambstimes.co.uk/content/...A49%3A20%3A533 124 GPs is not a hard number to reach... What will you do about the pups now??? What is your parents' reaction? |

Pigs have heat cycles that are approximately 16 hours (give or take) long every 16 or so days. So if she's with a male, it's likely she'll get pregnant. Are you intentionally trying to get a sow pregnant? |

Easy! Take that sow to the vet & let the vet tell you. It will be min $50 later of course! Oh and maybe he/she will tell you to spay her if she is not (from $130 & UP). Best assurance is from a vet. |

I am sorry Mabelle but I am confused??? If your "pig" is spayed as posted today 1/06/09, why did you feel "sad" when you cannot feel the litter??? http://www.guineapigcages.com/photos...hp?photo=13579 Something is really not adding up here. If you would post over at your pics. section & claimed that she is spayed... why did you still continue with this thread: http://www.guineapigcages.com/forum/...-pregnant.html Posted today??? She is definitely not spayed is she?? You already have 2 babies by her. You want more babies by her??? Is that your goal??? I would really spay her if I were you and I somehow do not believe that you have a separate cage for her. Care to show that you did not intend this pregnancy by showing us here a quick picture of the 2 cage you have??? Like I said, after all the posts & pic comments by you... I am utterly confused!!! |

I am confused... I must say. I think even before anyone answers to this thread, they should all read all "Mabelles" posts & picture comments before posting. Best answers are given when someone actually research & understand a cause. I think Mabelle really should spay her pigs!!! |

When i got pig spayed 2 days ago, the vet told me that she is a month into pregnancy. He also said that she is very healthy. We have already found great homes for the babies. Maybelle |

I didn't think you could spay a pregnant animal. While you were there, did you ask the vet about the 2 boars who fought and one got a tooth knocked out? Last edited by gooberific; 01-06-09 at 04:38 pm. Reason: Removing "dontfeed" smiley. |

You can successfully spay a pregnant piggy. He said the tooth would be fine and gave me some medicine for Boomer. |

You can spay a pregnant female, but it would kill the baby pigs and I can't imagine a vet being willing to do that unless there was grave risk caused by continuing the pregnancy. And even at that, I don't know that you could find a vet who would be willing to do it. IF your pig is spayed (was spayed 2 days ago) then she is NOT pregnant. |

Diito to paula. Either she's lying or just downright has no knowledge what so ever about pigs (no offense). I've read all your posts and find them very contridicting. Sorry if I offend. Don't let your brother play with your pigs alone. And youi already had a litter and her sons look quite old and I have a feeling you didn't seperate so either your pruposly breeding, or are just to lazy to seperate. If you are this site does NOT condone breeding discussions although we don't discriminate aginst breeders. I hope you don't feel attacked in any way. Oh, please start answering some of our questions. THey would be quitehelpful if you answered them honestly also. |

Unless I’m completely out of touch with the latest sterilization options, I think spaying removes the uterus and everything in it. So, that would mean it’s not possible for the GP to be carrying babies now. I think you can quit worrying about not feeling movement. |
