Neutered Boars and Females?

I would in the future when they are older, get my 2 boars neutered. They like to "fight" occassionally. Nothing seriously just a little dominance thing mostly. I hope getting them neutered will calm things down, and I'm not a huge fan on huge testicles. They kinda creep me out.

I would like to adopt a guinea pig or two. If I get females, they will get spayed to. Could 2 boars that get along be housed with spayed females?

Would they get along with another neutered male?

Neutering males will do nothing to calm them down with dominance issues. It is only done to be able to house them with females. Then it is still best to have one male with females. Female spay is not recommended because it is so invasive and poses lots of risks. More so then neuters. If you put two males in with females, they still will smell the females in heat and fight. If you really want spayed females, try to find a rescue with some that have already been spayed. They are harder to find though.

Boars can get along in larger groups. It really just depends on the boars themselves. I have a group of three and a group of two. One of the males in my pair will not get along with any other boar then the one he is with. Otherwise they could all live together since the others all get along. You have to provide them with plenty of space, preferably larger then the recommended size for cages and they must have their own food bowls, hideys and water bottles. They typically don't like to share.

I would suggest you look into boars if you adopt and want them to all live together, and dismiss the idea that neutering them will stop them from doing dominance battles.

Neutered or not, males aren't likely to live together peacefully if housed in the same cage as females. They would be just as likely to get along with another neutered male as they would a male that isn't neutered.

That said, unless you're neutering them for health reasons, I don't think you should have it done. Though not as invasive as spaying, it's a surgery that still comes with risks, and being "creeped out" by large testicles hardly justifies those risks.
