Crazy hair!

We just brought home our 2 new baby girls! I'll put up some pics soon but dont want to freak them out with the camera flash this soon. Lucy and Twiggy are 7 week old sister absynnians with crazy hair =) . I'm wondering tho, I've read most guinea pigs dont like to be pet going against the fur cause it's uncomfortable I guess. So which direction do you stroke an absynnian there fur is going in every direction? Probly a dumb question but I just really want them to be as happy and comfy as possible.

You pet in whichever direction the section of fur is.

My Abyssinian has many, many swirls. One on his nose, in particular, and I have to pet going down, towards his eyes because of the way the hair goes.

I just pet my aby from front to back like a normal pig. She doesn't seem to mind.

Congrat on your babies! I only pet my abbaruvian only on the head she really seems to like it better then her boy, she closes her eyes and makes happy noises

My abby is a bit wierd- she loves to have her fur ruffled and will purr like crazy. I can pet her front to back, or rumple her hair and she doesn't mind at all.

I pet my two Aby's from front to back as well. They don't seem to mind. I'm glad you are finding the forum helpful.

My two do not like to be petted front to back at all. One is open to scratches behind the ears only, the other like her nose rubbed as well as ear scratches.
