Guinea Pig Behavior

I adopted 2 male pigs yesterday and one of them makes almost like a pigeon noise and slowly moves his hind end back and forth to the other pig, I have read different things about what this means, What do you guys think? I am letting them get use to the change in environment before I start handling them, How long do you think I should wait before I start getting them out of their cage? Thanks

That sounds like rumblestrutting. It's a dominance thing between the guys. Mine still do it, too, even when one has a face full of hay from digging in a paper sack of it and looks silly.

I only gave mine a day (more like overnight) before I started picking them up from their cage.

Yeah, it's rumblestrutting - they're working out dominance.

You probably don't have to give them all that long to get used to their new environment before you start handling them. They need to get used to you, too.

Thanks for the advice! I was sitting next to their cage earlier feeding them hay and they were both coming right up to the side of the cage to get it .
