Vit-C Method :O well Gunther and dali both HATE the oxbow vitamin C tablets and for some wierd reason neither of them like fruit very much at all. so ive been smashing the tablets and mixing them with a little bit of water and then syringe feeding them but it feels so awkward and they really dont like it. is there an easier way to do this?

Re: Vit-C Method Well first of all, do they not like fruit AND vegetables, or just fruit? Because fruit isn't necessarily essential to their diet. One of my pigs only eats vegetables like Romaine and Cilantro and he's fine. And I too have to syringe feed my pigs vitamin c when they are sick. You get used to it after a while.

Re: Vit-C Method Yeah both the piggers love thier greens (ie: parsley cilantro and romaine) But they turn thier nose up against oranges and any other kind of fruit. I just think they should both get plenty of Vit-C since niether of them are totaly healthy and ther are Senior piggies.

Re: Vit-C Method I understand. Maybe you could try sprinkling a crushed up tablet on a wet vegetable(Romaine lettuce, spinach) My boys will only eat apples as a fruit, and they panic when they see a citrus fruit. I just make sure they get two large servings of piggy salad a day and they're fine.

Re: Vit-C Method instead of going with the water, i would put the crushed tablets on veggies. if that doesnt work, as doc said, just let them have extra large serves of it.

Re: Vit-C Method As long as they get 1 cup of fresh vegetables daily they will be fine. If you are still worried about them not getting enough, which I don't think you need to, then add red bell peppers to their diet. I've had pigs for 8 years and I have never used a supplement. My pigs are healthiest on their natural diet, fresh foods and hay.

Re: Vit-C Method Oh peppers eh? They liked that the first day i didnt think go give it to them again :3 Ok thanks! One more thing. O__o DALI IS BOSSY. Shes always Chittering her teeth at Gunther and sometimes she wont let him get to the water bottle or food (i think ill try adding an extra bottle) I call her "My little grouchy old lady" Cuz shes already 5 years old and Such a sour puss! I put gunther upstairs or take him out sometimes because shes really mean to him. Shes never bitten or scratched him or anything shes just (odly enough) The dominant one. *laughs* Its kinda refreshing to see a girl in charge but Gunthers such a pushover that i worry about him!

Re: Vit-C Method As long as you see him getting water, food, veggies, etc. I wouldn't worry about it, it's most likely just a dominance issue. Do you have two of everything? Sometimes it isn't required, b ut for some pairs it is.

Re: Vit-C Method yes, two of everything. My girls love each other, and totally love snuggling and being cuddly in cozies. But when it comes to food and water, its NO TRESPASSING. they each have their own food dish and water bottles.
