Playing pigs = sleep-deprived humans... help! Hi, all. We've been working on introducing our new little boar, Wilbur, to our older boar, Cesar, for the past couple of weeks. They've been doing so well together that we've started leaving them in the big c & c cage together, and last night, they spent their first full night together unsupervised. The cage is in our bedroom, and while we're happy that the pigs are becoming fast friends, the wheeking and chasing and chittering and gweeping all night long isn't so much fun for us human types. Do you think they'll settle down over time? If not, how can we deal with the nighttime wheeking and playing?

Re: Playing pigs = sleep-deprived humans... help! I'm glad they're getting along so well! I don't think you can expect them to adopt a human sleep schedule. The only thing I could suggest is to separate them at night. Other than that, are they very active during the day? Do they get lots of stimulation during the day? Usually, the best place for them is in the living room or family room, not the bedroom, although I don't know your situation. Guinea pigs like to be around their humans as much as possible during the day.

Re: Playing pigs = sleep-deprived humans... help! The cage is only in the bedroom because we have a cat, and we don't want to risk the peegs getting hurt. We do spend as much time playing with them as we can, though.
