Question Guinea Pig Constipation!

What do you do when a guinea pig gets constipated (besides bringing them to the vet?) and how do you know when theyre constapated?? I did a search and I didn't find any matches. Any info would be helpful!

Re: Guinea Pig Constipation!

My vet had me give them some grapes when one of mine was constipated...I didnt know she was, I just knew she was asleep and would make these little chirp sounds and it scared me so much I called and woke my vet up and make him check right then...the grapes worked great and I try to give them a few grapes a week now...though I would take them to a vet as it could be serious or life threatening
