Fluffed Up Coat Milo's had a rather "fluffy" look to him lately. I know it can sometimes be a symptom of illnesses, but he's eating/drinking/pooing and weighing the same as usual. I wonder what's caused him to have 24/7 bed head. Does humidity affect their coat? It's usually around 70-100% humidity here in the summer.

Re: Fluffed Up Coat Hmm no one else has a fluffed up piggie? I managed to get a picture of Norbie the other day. It had just rained, it was chilly in the house, and they were having their nightly salad. I noticed Milo & Norb tend to fluff up when they eat or sleep. Maybe that's their happy look? I've yet to see Thor puffed up. http://img81.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dsc05261nn4.jpg

Re: Fluffed Up Coat 1) Your piggie is super adorable. 2) My piggies have done that when I've given them veggies (sometimes not all the time) and once or twice when I've put down fresh hay. I've never seen them do it 24/7 though. I've also never seen them do it when I've given them fresh pellets.

Re: Fluffed Up Coat I may not be much help, but I must say it does get very humid where I live too, but my pigs don't do that. I RARELY see my pigs get like that, pretty much the same thing like Gemiinii said with the veggies and hay.

Re: Fluffed Up Coat Some of my pigs do this sometimes when eating. I definitely think it's their "happy" thing.

Re: Fluffed Up Coat Woah, I see what you mean! Sort of reminds me of when your hair stands on end due to static electricity. If I thought guinea pigs could get static i'd suggest earthing him but somehow I doubt thats the case. For the meantime you could just try combing him with a damp comb to make the hair stick back down if its causing him discomfort. Other than that I have no idea. Edit: Oh as a side note he looks super cute like that! All round and fluffy!
