Name changes? This might be a silly question, but how much, if at all, do piggers recognize/respond to their names? I'm bringing home two 10 month old girls this weekend, but they have boys' names, and I'm trying to decide whether to rename or not.

Re: Name changes? I left all my adopted boars names the same. But they all have nicknames that they respond to. I say wait and see how they respond, then you can change them if you like or just give them some nicknames.

Re: Name changes? I changed Cowlick to his current name Harry he comes to it might take you a little while to get them used to it but they learn

Re: Name changes? My pigs tend to know their own names and their cagemates' names. Jackie, for instance, gets freaked out and runs away when he hears his name. I think it should be fine to change a couple of 10 month old's names.

Re: Name changes? Coco responds to his name. (Most of the time) other times, I think he ignores me! LOL! But he always responds to veggies! But if he is eating and I say his name, he will stop and try to find me. It is funny. Or other times, he will stop chew once or twice stop again then continue.
