Re: The strange things you do, when you're with your pig? I am all about bumper stickers (I have two ribbons, one that says "I love my guinea pig" and the other says "Save a life, adopt a shelter pet") and I would kill to have a bumper sticker that says something like that .

Re: The strange things you do, when you're with your pig? My 4 year old daughter can wheek and sound just like the piggies. Sometimes I ask her to do it if we've been gone from the house and I just miss hearing them talk to me. Some of my boys purr when I hold them or pet them just right. When they do the noise I'll purr back and baby talk them. My husband just looked at me one night and asked is that you making that noise? I just smiled and went back to purring.

They remind me of defenseless little babies, yet they can hold their own in a test of wills! We behave like total idiots when it comes to talking to, playing with, and just interacting with our piggies. We sing to them, baby talk to them, scold them (they don't care), cuddle them in fleece, jump to attention when they wheek, and just generally have no shame or dignity where they are concerned! I could think of worse ways to live. Our babies make our life happy and enjoyable (while letting us believe that it was us that made their life better by rescuing them!). |

Re: The strange things you do, when you're with your pig? I talk to my pigs, the thing I say most often is just 'hello boys' when I walk in the room. My pigs have a wonderful sarcasm about them though e.g. when they do something of note I often ask them what they're doing and they reply by looking up at me as if to say: Nugget: 'are you a guinea pig?' Me: 'erm... no' Nugget: 'then if i told you'd i'd have to kill you...' Me: <raises an eyebrow> 'good luck with that' It would not surprise me if my guinea pigs were secretly bond villains! Though being serious, my pigs communicate the most fantastic expressions.

Re: The strange things you do, when you're with your pig? ToadiesIt seems that one thing is abundantly clear. Guineapigg people are truly a different breed. I think it might be the guilessness, honesty and unpretentiousness of them, as well as sweet, soft, furry, funny, fat butts that endears them to us. We stand on our heads for them and thank them for the opportunity to do so. And we don't complain about being wrapped around such a tiny, little digit. They truly are just pure joy. I totally agree! But I would also like to extend this to not just Guinea Pigger People, but also to our dog people, cat people, rat lovers, iguana treasurers, fish followers, ect. who devote their time to loving and caring for their furry, slimy, scaly, and feather friends. ALL RIGHT ANIMAL LOVERS!!!!

Re: The strange things you do, when you're with your pig? I love my husband dearly but pity him because he does not feel the pure joy I feel from loving on and taking care of my boys. I love all of my animals, but my piggies are special in my heart.
