Amazing News!!!!

I am extremely happy to report that an hour ago my father said I could get guinea pigs!!!! This is increadible unexpected news for me because the deal with my parents was if I got straight A's I would recieve guinea pigs...and i unfortunately didn't with two last minute B's. The new deal is this:
Trade our large bird cage for a C&C cage and we would begin looking for adoptions!!!!!!!!
So today I am posting on craigslist this trade!!!!
I also have to pay for food and bedding...This shouldn't be a problem since I am using fleece and recycled news papers and I make money weekley with babysitting!

POST ANY THOUGHTS OR COMMENTS PLEASE!!! I LOVE TO HEAR YOUR OPINIONS!!!! YAY :

Good luck with the trade. Hope it goes well. Why not just sell the Bird Cage? It will probably go for a lot more then a C&C. At least I know my Macaws cage was whole lot more then building my C&C.

While looking on CL, why not try to find a pair that comes with a C&C? The last four I adopted came with everything they needed plus the cages from CL. One pair had a small but very reasonable fee, and the others were free.

Be sure to save up your babysitting money for veggies and hay. That is the most costly in my opinion with keeping piggies, other than Vet Care of course.

I think selling it may be a really good idea....but the problem is shipping costs will make the piece seem extremely expensive. Other than that, my bird cage trade/sell is up on craigslist under the west palm beach florida site.

Also I have horse stables all around where I live, I plan to see how much their hay will be and its quality...

You're really lucky in this. I envy people in places like that. For example my aunt lives in kentucky and they've obviously got hay just lying around and when you call about it :gasp: people actually know what you're talking about. I had bought some store hay and used that until I could take a trip to Kentucky to visit my aunt and weasled her into helping me find hay.

And now I have two trash bags and a trash can full of the stuff...I'm actually not quite sure what to do with it all.

Haha I live in Boca Raton and here we have alot of horse stables hidden around! Its a very diverse place here. Even though I live in suburbia, on one side of my community is a protected everglades area, in front is a protected woods and park, then two schools, and behind are horse stables and more homes. It is really nice and unlike anything else in Boca!!

I SOLD THE BIRD CAGE!!!!! It was almost half my asking price (I got 25 for it) but my dad just wanted it gone.... I am happy to even get 25! Yay!!!!! Once I return from my one-month nanny job type thing in new jersey I will be adopting!!! I have already started shopping for my boys or girls to be!!!

That's great news. Definitely wait until you get back to get some piggies, but your well on your way. Maybe if you see a pair you like and show the rescue you are really interested, they will hold them for you until you get back. Maybe give them a deposit or something. Good Luck!

Thanks. The woman who wanted the bird cage ended up backing out on me, but I still have a while to sell it. Until then, I will keep re-posting on craigslist and checking for and piggys.

If it's a pretty nice bird cage and you clean up really well I know people would pay a mint for bird cages...for some odd reason. My ex had a friend who had like 5 birds and it was outrageous what he was telling me he and some of his friends paid for bird cages.
