Careless Stinky Stinky Piggy

I have 3 male guinea pigs. 1 of them bumblebee reeks. I mean smells bad, especially from his butt. He also hates having his butt touched and always squawks if I try to pet him to there. The other two male piggies don't reek like Bumblebee. He's an adolescent pig, who's about 10-12 weeks old, rather small.

He also poops constantly, like when he is out on a towel. Its like always pooping. I'd say at least a 1 poo, every minute or so. I took him to vet to get the last of his mites shots the other day, but what do you know he wasn't reeking that day. I did try to clean out his sack, and there was some really nasty smelling white stuff but no blockage or anything. Is this just a developmental phase?

He came from a situation where there were 11 other guinea pigs, all living too close together. Could this be the cause of his behavior?

The smell didn't go away after cleaning out his anal sac? Usually that is where the smell comes from. That is the only odor I have dealt with, so I not sure what else to suggest.

Re: Stinky Stinky Piggy

I didn't really clean it out, I just checked for blockages.

I'm supposed to use baby wipes, and cu-tips to help to that right? Or mineral oil.

Re: Stinky Stinky Piggy

If he smells around other pigs and not when he is alone at the vet, then Bumblebee is probably marking to show his dominance. If he is an adolescent, he could likely be going through puberty as well. That could last until he is a year old.

Cool I'll clean him out, and see if that helps. I'll also see if he grows out of it. The poor piggy isn't the dominant piggy at all, he gets bossed around by his roommate Linus.
