Question One pig piggier than the other

What do you do if one of your pigs "hogs" the veggies (actually eats much faster than the other)? Do I worry about this or forget it?

Re: One pig piggier than the other

The only thing that I worry about is the limited veggies like carrots, tomatoes, etc. I send them to their own hidey house and give them the limited food first, then the leafy greens are a free for all. It all seems to balance out. Is one of your pigs loosing weight? If not, then they are probably holding their own. If so, then maybe temporarily seperating them at food time might help.

You could try giving some of the veggies at floor time to the ones who don't seem to get as much as the big wig pig!

Our TeeJay is a little food thief. I just have to monitor their (as Toadies said) limited veggies to make sure she's not stealing Ruby's.

It's kind of like watching a toddler who is constantly screaming, "MINE, MINE, MINE"! I just have to redirect her to her own food until Ruby is finished eating what's hers.

Re: One pig piggier than the other

I have one piggie that seems to eat ALL the time. If I have one girl out and im feeding her, she will try to stick her nose through the wire and will beg to be fed.
I try to make sure all the piggies get veggies by putting them in different places.
