I was just wondering if it's mandatory to clip my piggie's nails. I have two of them. I'm just scared to do it. I got bit HARD by one of my piggies the other day and I'm just afraid that they will bite if I try to clip their nails.

Re: Nail Clipping If you don't clip their nails the nails will become overgrown and curl under, stabbing into the paw. No fun. Finding a way to clip nails that works for you and your piggies is a bit trial and error, but it must be done. Once you clip their nails a few times, they'll semi-understand it's got to be done and become accustom to it. Guinea Lynx :: Nail Clipping Also, if you're willing to shell out a few dollars, you can take them to the vet and they'll do it for you.

Re: Nail Clipping I read up on the links for nail cutting - and it said to use a baby nail clipper - I'm so scared to try it. I have one biter out of the 3, and am worried about him.

Re: Nail Clipping Wrap him up in a towel, or get another person to help you. My pigs are not normally biters, but two of them do bite when I clip their nails. I usually do one or two paws, put them down and do another pigs, and then go back to the biters to finish. That way they have a few minutes to "recoup."
