| I just got two new guinea pigs yesterday and i tried to pick them up but they start freaking out and i feel like i'm hurting them should i leave them alone or try to hold them still |

| Re: New guinea pigs They are freaked out by the new environment and the change probably, but you likely aren't hurting them. If they are young especially they will squeal when you pick them up. They'll get used to it, and to you, so I say keep trying. Offer them a treat when you hold them and they will get used to you. Congrats on the new pigs. |

| Re: New guinea pigs When I first got my boys, they were kinda young, probably 2-3 months old. I used the tube trick to catch them and I would just hold them with one hand on the bottom of the tube, to keep them from sliding out, and I would pet and scratch their heads and ears with my other hand. After awhile, the subtrafuge(sp?) wasn't necessary. One of them still acts like I'm killing him, but I just tell him to at least wait until I'm pinching him to complain |

| LOL thats too cute. I tried my best to not freak out when they jumped and i got Pixie the baby first and Bettie the mom just came! ty for the advice it helped me a lot. i just though i was doing it wrong!! |
