Guinea pig with something on his nose

Hi I have two guinea pigs. This morning when I went to feed them Parker had a scab like thing on his nose. He doesn't seem to mind me touching it but I have no idea what it is. I will check guinea lynx when I finnish writing this but i just wanted to know if anyone knows what it could be and/or if I should get a vet appointment.

Edit: The scab like thing is at the top of his nose.

Just like a human scab it could be from any number of things. Check your cage for anything sharp he could have scraped against. It could be a bite from a piggie argument. I would just keep an eye on it and if it dosen't heal then take him to the vet.

What size scab are you talking about? Did it look like a bite?

Check these:
Guinea Lynx :: Fungus

Guinea Lynx :: Cheilitis

Re: Guinea pig with something on his nose

The guinea pigs have grids in the middle to separate them because they were fighting before. I think it looks slightly like the second thing but a lot less worse. I will call the vet today and get an appointment. I do have another question. When I go to the vet should I take them both even-though they are separated or should I just take the effected one? Also is it possible that if it is cheilitis the second one got it or would it not spread?

If they were my pigs I would take them both so that if they need to treat them both they can get weights for the right dosages of whatever medicine they send with you if they need to.
