Star Eye question.

I don't think this is a medical problem, so I posted it here.

Both my pigs eyes are a bit watery (seems normal though, nothing major). Yesterday, when we took them outside, both their eyes at one point had this milky stuff come out of the corner, and went away after a few seconds.

Just wanted to get feedback on if this is normal or if I should really be concerned.

Re: Eye question.

The milky substance is grooming fluid and quite normal.

There's a picture of the grooming fluid on GuineaLynx if you'd like to compare.

Re: Eye question.

I figured the milky-like substance was normal, from reading that page previously, Ly and Haley, but wanted to make sure anyway. Thank you, again.

Suppose the watery eyes are just normal, as well.

Re: Eye question.

Piggies can have allergies and they are so darn close to the allergen. That link also mentions things to watch for.

Re: Eye question.

Any weight loss? Any lethargy, sneezing, runny nose, appetite loss? Are your pigs peeing and pooing fine? Any labored or abnormal breathing? Any clicking noise in the chest while breathing?

Re: Eye question.

I'm not sure about the lethargy one, Ly, because they've both been lying around all day today. They were active and running yesterday during floortime, but now that they're in their cage, they aren't really moving much. Just been chalking it up to being new here and still getting used to the cage, but maybe that's wrong.

I've heard a couple sneezes, but just piggie sneezes. Nothing to be concerned about.

No runny nose or loss of appetite. Pooping fine; pee turns white on the fleece, but I've read on here that's fine as long as it's not gritty or rough, which it isn't.

Nothing wrong with their breathing, either.
