Haircut

The piggy in my avatar is the cavy I'm adopting on Saturday. She's 5 weeks old. I was wondering, do you think she needs a haircut? How ofter do you trim your cavy's hair? And do you take them to the vet to do it, do it yourself, or something else?

One of my girls has REALLY long hair. I only cut the hair that is around her bum and what drags on the ground. From your pic I wouldn't think she needs it.

Yeah, I just have somebody hold her in a towel while I cut around her back end. I do want to get some clippers though I think that would be easier.

Your pig doesn't seem to need a haircut. If later though the hair on her bum area grows really long then you will need to trim it up to keep urine and other messes from making it mat up.
