Best Guinea PIg Shampoo?

What is the best guinea pig shampoo? What is the brand? Where can you find it?

I use Bunny Bath by Four Paws. People have recommended the Gorgeous Guineas line but I haven't used it yet.

If your pig is prone to dry fur (and doesn't have parasites), Malaseb or Nizoral.

I like Bunny Bath. It's sold at just about all pet supply stores and comes in a pink bottle.

I couldn't find Bunny Bath at any stores but I did find someone on ebay that had some . I paid seven dollars for it. I hope he didn't rip me off!

I use Bunny Bath too.

I think I paid around $6 plus tax for a bottle of it. Since cavies rarely need bathing, I am still using the same bottle I bought about 3 years ago. It's still 3/4 full. It doesn't take a much to lather them up.

I like Bunny Bath. I paid $5.99, plus tax. It'll last a long time though, I doubt I'll ever have to buy another.

I put mine in the tub and put just enough water to cover their under bellies. I use Gorgeous Guineas shampoo, I love it. When lathering , I just use my fingers.

I like to use Aveeno. It's 100% pure oatmeal. You can find it at just about any drug or grocery store.

I'm not a big fan of the ingredients in Four Paws Bunny Bath. Here they are:

Water, sodium laureth sulfate, lauroamphoglycinate (and) sodium trideceth sulfate, cocamide DEA, PEG-150 distearate, sodium chloride EDTA, diazolidinyl urea, DMDM hydantoin, citric acid, fragrance, methylchloroisothiazolinone (and) methylisothiazolinone, FD&C yellow #5, FD&C yellow #6.

Can you use Aveeno? I have bunny Bath, but I want to get this stuff called Epi-Soothe, which is also oatmeal-based, but for animals. Is Aveeno a good shampooto use on pigs?

I've heard of gorgeous guinea shampoo and it's suppose to be the best. It's sold Overseas but after emailing them to see I if can purchase in the states they said I could and easier if done through paypal, that was last year.

People here generally think that shampoos marketed for humans are not suitable for guinea pigs. It's hard to know the exact pH without asking the manufacturer directly.

Does powdered oatmeal clean very well? I wouldn't have thought. Interesting.

Hm Earthbath is the same thing I use for my dogs. I never thought to use it on the piggie. I might try that out. I use the Aveeno powdered oatmeal for my hedgehog. Although I use it to help out with her dry skin, not so much to "clean" her. I know Aveeno does have some oatmeal based shampoos and bodywashes that are okay to use with hedgehogs. So I can't see the harm in using those for piggies. Although I don't know what the ingredients are, so don't take my word for it.

Earthbath says most of their products can be used on any small animal, or something like that. They also came out with two types marketed especially for small animals, but I don't see the difference, it's more expensive, and they're scented (I think). I prefer fragrance-free products for a lot of things.
