Attention all members: Regarding the forum lag/slow time issues

I'm putting this here because it seems most people read this forum more often than the other forum sections.

Due to the lag time recently on the forum, I need to ask all of you to please only hit the submit button on threads/posts ONE time and wait a couple minutes or more to see if it goes through. Hitting the submit button more than once is causing threads and posts to go through in duplicate, triplicate and sometimes even quadruplicate. Please just have some patience and wait up to 4-5 minutes and see if your post goes through before hitting the button again.

Some threads are coming up empty, as in absolutely nothing in them. I don't know what is causing that.

CavySpirit (Teresa) is working on the problem and trying to fix the lag issues.

I don't know if it's just me, but I often can't access the forum for hours at a time...normally around this time of night (for me). The page hangs for awhile, then either loads a half page or no page at all.

All other websites work fine when it does this.

My multiple posts were actually due to my own computer at work locking up. Our main accounting program crashed while I was posting, and I actually got to go home and clean chinchilla cages instead.

I like to think this forum crashed the hospital's stuff, allowing me to go home.

My problem is that I hit post, and because of my ADD, if it doesn't go through right away, I forget that I've already hit post, and I hit it again! I guess I just need to concentrate reeaally hard when I'm on here.

I seem to have more trouble accessing the site than anything else. However, on the few times I have tried to post, I've only hit the "submit reply" button once. I recieved a "page cannot be displayed" error and gave up. I wouldn't log in for another few days, only to find that one post not only posted, but did so multiple times. This was not due to me hitting the button multiple times either. So although I apparently was an offender, it was not due to multiple sending on my part.

Just my two cents.

Overall it does seem faster, though I get odd periods of lag which don't seem to have any pattern (ie, not at a particular time, or interval, etc)

Although, I don't think I could get on the site at all yesterday. I seem to be getting in just fine today. And my the couple of posts I've made went through just fine too.

It's been fine today. Not much lag that I can tell on re-loading, but a little on posting.
