Question on Floor Time

As some of you may know I just adopted two piggies and wanted to give them some floor time. I am not sure if I should wait until they are more comfortable with me. For the past two days I have been putting my hand in their home so they will get used to me. They have started to get used to me, Addison more so than Jasmine. But, if I go to pat them they still run away from me. I was wondering if I should wait to do floor time until they get used to me or if I should do floor time how should I do it? Should I sit with them and try to get them to interact with me or let them play alone?

Re: Question on Floor Time

I recently adopted two guinea pigs about two weeks ago. I was so excited to get them I gave them floor time on the third day, I think. I sat still on the floor and they ran all around me and weren't afraid. But as soon as I try to pet them they run away. Still do. I keep them in a play pen for floor time and when I need to put them back in their cage I have to trap them in a corner by shrinking the pen size.

They love floor time but I wish I'd waited for them to trust me more before I started trying to pick them up all the time.

Sorry for that. Didn't mean to. This website runs slow on my computer sometimes. Well now you can read my response three times if you like.

Re: Question on Floor Time

I noticed that too. I don't know if it's because a lot of people are on at once or what. Sometimes I post more than one on accident too.
