| Long Hair Unexpected! I am posting a few pics of my guinea pigs. The first one is the mommy... and the following are of Marshmallow (one of her babies) now 2 1/2 months old... Why does Marshmallow and her brother Cocoa have long hair on their head and bottom? Mom doesn't! And their hair is a completely different texture than mom's too! Their hair is almost the same feeling as an angora sweater. It is soooo soft! Does that happen from mix breeding, or what? I am just curious! If anyone has any idea why they are so different, please let me know! |

| Re: Long Hair Unexpected! Probably somewhere down the line one of their relatives was bred to a silky or another long haired cavy. That is what makes a cross breed, your pig. |
